The story spans over a period of 70 years and will chronicle the journey of its protagonist and the nation, Bharat. 3. The movie was earlier supposed to star Priyanka Chopra however, she walked out of the movie as her wedding dates were clashing with the film’s schedule and later, Katrina Kaif was roped into play the female lead. 4. The makers of Bharat wanted to shoot an important sequence at the Wagah Border however, they couldn’t get the required permission due to security reasons. The makers then recreated the Wagah Border in Ludhiana for the period drama. 5. The director of the movie, Ali Abbas Zafar has revealed that they have used original steam engines for the partition scenes along with art, costumes, and nuances, to stay true to the era. 6. Reportedly, both Salman and Katrina got injured while shooting for the movie. We hear that Salman got hurt while shooting in Ludhiana while Kat was seen walking with the help of a cane in Mumbai at an event, where she had come with director Ali Abbas Zafar. 7. Satish Kaushik, who had directed Salman in Tere Naam, is reuniting with the actor after 16 years for Bharat. Both the actors are playing Merchant Navy officers and Satish is playing the captain of the ship. 8. Reportedly, Varun Dhawan will have a special appearance in his mentor, Salman Khan’s Bharat. 9. A 10,000 square foot gym was set up in Film City, for Salman where he shot for the last schedule of Bharat. 10. Bharat will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
