उर्दू, फारसी और हिंदुस्तानी ज़ुबान में कोई जना ऐसा भी है क्या, जिसने हर्फ़ पढ़े हों और मिर्ज़ा ग़ालिब को न जानता हो. ऐसा हो ही नहीं सकता. जी हां, ग़ालिब के लिखे की पहुंच है ही ऐसी. ग़ालिब का पूरा नाम असदुल्लाह बेग खान था. उनका जन्म 27 दिसंबर, 1797 को आगरा में हुआ था. आगरा में सैनिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले परिवार में वह पले बढ़े. चाचा ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी की सेना में ग़ालिब का बचपन किल्लत में बीता. बेहद कम उम्र से उन्होंने लिखना शुरू किया. और फिर जो लिखा उसके क्या कहने. आज तक उनके लिखे का जादू कायम है. Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan was born on December 27, 1797, in Uttar Pradesh Agra.
