कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी ने गुरुवार को राफेल डील और सीबीआई में घमासान पर प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस की. राहुल गांधी की यह प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस सीबीआई को लेकर मचे घमासान पर है. सीबीआई के दो प्रमुख अधिकारियों को छुट्टी पर भेजे जाने के बाद कांग्रेस पार्टी लगातार मोदी सरकार पर हमलावर है. कांग्रेस का आरोप है कि केंद्र सरकार ने राफेल डील की जांच के डर से सीबीआई डायरेक्टर आलोक वर्मा को छुट्टी पर भेज दिया है. All eyes are on the Supreme Court today as it hears CBI Director Alok Verma's petition challenging the Narendra Modi government's decision to send him on an indefinite leave, which many see as an effective removal of the CBI chief. In a midnight decision on Tuesday, the Modi government ordered Alok Verma and his deputy, Rakesh Asthana, to go on an indefinite leave till the time their names are not cleared in enquires pending against them. Following the order, their offices were sealed and many top officials were transferred. In his petition, Alok Verma has challenged the legality of the Modi government's order. The CBI director enjoys a fix tenure of two years and his appointment is made after consultation between the PM, the Chief Justice of India and the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha. Besides the PM, the other two members were reportedly not consulted before Verma was asked to go on an indefinite leave. Meanwhile, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has upped his ante against the Modi government and accused it of punishing Verma because he was investigating the Rafale deal.
