सीबीआई मामले की सुनवाई करते हुए चीफ जस्टिस रंजन गोगोई ने कहा है कि वह इस मामले को देखेंगे, उन्होंने सीवीसी से अपनी जांच अगले 2 हफ्ते में पूरी करने को कहा है, यह जांच सुप्रीम कोर्ट के रिटायर्ड जज एके पटनायक की निगरानी में होगी. चीफ जस्टिस ने कहा कि देशहित में इस मामले को ज्यादा लंबा नहीं खींच सकते हैं. आलोक वर्मा की याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को नोटिस भेजा है. उन्होंने सरकार से पूछा है कि किस आधार पर आलोक वर्मा को छुट्टी पर भेजा गया है. इस मामले में अब 12 नवंबर को अगली सुनवाई होगी. CJI ने सुनवाई के दौरान कहा कि इस स्थिति में बस इस मामले पर सुनवाई होगी कि यह प्रथमदृष्टया केस बनता है या नहीं.
