After days of speculations about Sonam Kapoor’s upcoming nuptials, the Kapoor family finally issued a statement, confirming that the actress will indeed tie the knot with boyfriend Anand Ahuja on May 8. A joint statement released by the two families reads, “The Kapoor and Ahuja families take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.” According to reports, the preparations for the sangeet ceremony have already begun at Anil Kapoor’s residence. Sonam’s parents Anil and Sunita along with her cousins, will reportedly shake a leg to specially choreographed songs and we have heard that Sonam too is expected to perform while her family will dance to songs from her films. Sonam will be next seen sharing screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhasker in ‘Veere Di Wedding’, which is slated to hit screens on June 1.
